<목욕합시다>는 여성들의 몸에 관한 이야기를 하는 작품이다. 다양한 연령과 직업을 가진 여성들의 인터뷰를 재구성해 대본을 만들고 진도씻김굿의 형식과 목욕하는 형식을 결합하는 공연이다.
지금 이 시대를 살고 있는 여성으로서 ‘우리는 어떻게 살고 있는가?’라는 질문을 던진다. ‘개인적인 것이 사회적이다’라는 말이 있다. 다양한 여성들의 개인적인 이야기를 통해 우리의 몸의 역사와 현시점을 들여다보는 건 어떨까.
몸에는 그 사람의 역사가 담겨있다. 몸의 성찰을 통해 우리 자신을 들여다 볼 수 있다. 사회에서 요구하는 여자상이 아닌 자신만의 아름다움을 드러내는 행위로서 관객들에게 질문을 던진다.
<목욕합시다>는 지금 이 시대의 여성으로서 스스로를 돌아보고 있는 그대로를 긍정하며, 우리가 어떻게 살아가고 있는지에 대한 질문을 던지는 작품이다.
<Let’s take a bath> discusses on female body. The book is based on interviews of women of various age groups and careers, and the show combines the form of ‘Jindo Ssitkkim-gut’ and bathing.
As a woman, I throw the question “How are we dealing with life?” There is a saying that something personal is something social. How about we take a look into the history of our bodies and our time through personal stories of various women? One’s body carries its history. We study ourselves through observing our bodies. Instead of projecting a female figure forced by the society, I question the audience through an act of showing one’s individual beauty.
Through <Let’s take a bath>, I wish to take a deep look into myself and affirm the woman in me as she is while throwing a question on life.
